Vessel

A person who is considered as a receptacle or agent of quality; a person into whom some quality

“As Grace” is infused; a child of Light, a True Child or the Lord.

The Apostle Paul in 2nd Timothy 2:15-26 wrote, Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. *But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. *And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; *Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. *Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. **But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. **If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. *Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. *But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. *And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, *In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; *And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

The first thing that we need to consider, about a person being a Vessel unto Righteousness, is that they need to STUDY the Written Word of God, “YHWH” the Bible, because it is our Necessary Food. It is how we know what is that Good and Acceptable Word of the Lord; that we might be Fully Furbished to do the Work of the Lord.

The second thing that we need to know about the above verse is that the Written Word of God, the Bible, is divisible; “Here a little and there a little.”  Sometimes we need to go to various places in Scripture to validate a Scripture, that is Profitable for Doctrine.

There are many VAIN things that the Church has adopted as being Gospel that actually have no Foundation of Truth. Therefore, we should avoid any practice that is not Scripturally established or sanctioned.

The problem with observing False Doctrines is that it tends to lead us more easily into accepting other Doctrines that do not have Truth Roots thereby, causing others, that may be observing us, to follow in the same Unholy Path.

There a lot of Ministers and so called Christians that profess and teach Doctrines that are not Biblical, like:

Worshipping on the First Day of the Week “Sunday, the day of the Sun god,” Christmas and Easter, which they claim are Biblical, but they ARE NOT.  To me, they are like the two of the sons of Aaron when they offered up Strange Fire before the Lord and were destroyed for their Presumptuous Deed.

Regardless of what people might say or teach, God’s Word the Bible, standeth True and the Truth is no part of a lie.

In regards to verse 20 where it says, In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour, in the Book of Revelation 2:13 it mentions that satan has a seat in the in the church; we want to make sure that we are not one of those that occupy his seat.

If we, as Children of the Most High God, will cleanse ourselves from ALL False Doctrines, we will begin to be a better Vessel, a Vessel unto Honour, well-pleasing unto God.

The Saints are to follow after Righteousness and that is nothing less than observing the Written Word of God, the Bible.

In Romans 9:21-24 the Apostle Paul wrote, **Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? *What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: *And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, *Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

The Prophet Samuel in 1st Samuel 21:5 in part wrote, The vessels of the young men are Holy.  The Saints are commanded by the Word of the Lord not to learn the way of the heathen “the wicked,” Jeremiah 10:2.

As Saints of God, without compromising the Written Word of God, we need to become all things to all men, that we might by all means save “Win” some, 1st Corinthians 9:22.

In Isaiah 66:20 (in part) the Prophet Isaiah wrote, As the Children of Israel bring an offering in a Clean Vessel into the House of the Lord.

In the same way that the Prophet Isaiah was a Clean Vessel unto the Lord so, we that have accepted the Precious Shed Blood of Jesus, for the Forgiveness of our Sins, we should also Purify our Spirit, Soul and Body by immersing our self into the Water of His Word, the Bible so, that we might be Pure and Holy in the Sight of the Lord.

We read in Psalms 2:8-11 where King David wrote, Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. **Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. *Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. *Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

If we are willing to follow the Commandments, Judgments, Laws, Precepts and Statutes of the Lord we will be a Holy Vessel unto the Lord and then, He will give unto us a Harvest of Lost Souls, so that we might Bear Fruit unto Him.

The Apostle Paul in 1st Thessalonians 4:3-4 wrote, For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: *That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

It is the Lord’s Will that the Saints should be Holy therefore, we should not only avoid physical fornication, but we should especially avoid Spiritual Fornication “False doctrines.”

If we are one that has a daily diet of reading the Bible and studying the same, we will find that we will be less likely to do things that are displeasing to God. We therefore need to stay close to Him to avoid sin.
