~ The act or motive of punishing another in payment for a wrong or injury committed ~
~ Also known as Retribution; The punishment or reward distributed in a future life based on performance in this life ~
King David in Psalms 94:1-2 wrote, "O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, show Thyself. *Lift up Thyself, Thou Judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud."
King David, a man after God’s own heart, 1st Samuel 13:14 & Acts 13:22 said that Vengeance belongs to God, Hebrews 10:30 and that He will repay or administer a just recompense of reward, Hebrews 2:2, to those deserving it.
In 2nd Thessalonians 1:6 the Apostle Paul wrote, "Seeing it is Righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you."
The Saints need not be concerned about getting even with those that have done them wrong, because God “YHWH” will do it for them if the wrong doer does not repent ~
We read in Deuteronomy 32:43, "Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people."
The Prophet Moses declared that our God is a God that cares for His children and that He will show compassion towards His own and punish those that afflict or harm them.
The Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 59:17 wrote, "For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak."
Our God “YHWH” is clothed with Vengeance; He who created us and Saved us through the Precious Blood of His Dear Son, Jesus is ready, willing and anxious to defend the Saints that put their trust in Him. Praise His Holy Name!
The Apostle Paul in 1st Thessalonians 5:8-9 wrote, "But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. *For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ."
God “YHWH” does not want His children to be bothered with avenging themselves. He does not want the Saints to have a heart of wrath. He wants then to have and display a heart of faith, hope and love through Jesus Christ our Lord.
In Romans 12:18-19, the Apostle Paul wrote, "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. *Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."
In the event that it becomes necessary for the Children of the Most High God to fight, He has declared that the Saints will be the Head and not the tail, Deuteronomy 28:13, if we observe and do His Commandments.
We read in St. Luke 21:19, "In your patience “endurance” possess ye your Souls."
The Saints are not to be hasty to avenge themselves but they are to wait upon the Lord and He will lift them up and will set their feet in pleasant places.
Psalms 16:6.
In Jeremiah 17:9-10, the Prophet Jeremiah wrote, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? *I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings."
Because the heart of mankind is desperately wicked, we the Saints are to have the Mind of Christ. 1st Corinthians 2:16 - The Saints are to be like an open book, read and known of all men, 2nd Corinthian 3:2, that their deeds are Righteous.
The Prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 51:6 wrote, "Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense."
There is coming a time that the Saints of God MUST separate themselves for the traditions of mankind or they will also suffer the same Vengeance of the ungodly.
Even in the Justice System of today’s world if a person is in the wrong place at the wrong time they can be charged right along with the lawless as an accessory after the fact.
We MUST therefore pay attention to what the Written Word of God says and be in the processes of doing His Will ~
In Lamentation 3:58-60 we read, "O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life. *O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause. *Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me."
We Must come before the Lord with words of repentance, Hosea 14:2 and seek His Face to know and do His Blessed Will then, He will watch over us as the Apple of His Eye. Deuteronomy 32:10, Psalms 17:8 & Zechariah 2:8
We read in 1st Chronicles 28:9, "And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever."
God “YHWH” is with us and will be for us as long as we are with Him. Praise His Holy and Righteous Name!
