Live a Righteous Life

~  Righteous = Just, morally right, true
The American Heritage Dictionary-Second College Edition

Righteous Living is just plain Living Right!

"And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour."
Ephesians
5:2

The first part of living a Christ-like life is to know that you are born again ~

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
St. John 3:3

How do you know when you are born again?

The Bible says that God gives you a new spirit; that old things pass away, and all things become new.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
2nd Corinthians 5:17

This is how you know you are born again ~

Before coming to Christ you may have been addicted to alcohol or some other habit - like cursing, but now it doesn't even cross your mind. Why is this? You have a new mind that knows nothing about being addicted to worldly things.

"I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."
Romans 7:25

As for how this takes place: God gave you a desire to be saved and you stayed before the Lord, in prayer, until you knew he had answered that prayer. And you will know because a peace will come upon you that you've never had before.

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:7

Warning
! There are many false doctrines in the world and no matter which church you go to you will probably find things taught there that are not Biblical. Why is this? I believe it is because people don't study the Bible by subjects.  Just like in school, there are many subjects. You could study math, reading, and language and know them well, yet know nothing of geography or history. And your teacher would grade your work according to the books you studied.  The same is true concerning your Christian life. It will be graded by what the Bible says, not by what someone says about the Bible.

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"
1st Peter 4:17

Many people have a hard time quitting the things of the world because they don't stay before God until this peace comes to them.  In other words, they do not fully die to sin, therefore they continue to struggle all their life to keep from the old path. We are told that we are dead to the world after being saved.  One thing a newborn baby needs is someone to wash, feed, and dress them. This is true of a newborn Christian as well.  Jesus' blood washes them clean, his word clothes them, and they are to feed on his word, which we call the Bible. One is not born again knowing all the will of God; they must study to show themselves approved of God.

In studying you will find the things that God wants his children to do and also the things he does not want his children doing. If you are careful to follow the Bible's instructions, staying away from the advice of others, which may be contrary to the Bible, you will find the Christian life very fulfilling.

Living a Christian life is not hard to do. Just follow the Bible. Jesus said follow me

"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."
St. Matthew 16:24

Jesus went to church on Sabbath, taught all that would listen and loved all that came unto him.  He healed those that were sick and walked in forgiveness. He lived what he believed, and he desires no less of us today.

Go and do likewise ~
