~ To make alive; to come or return to Life; to reach the stage of expectancy when the living can be felt to move ~
The Apostle Paul in Colossians 2:13 wrote, "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He “God / YHWH,” quickened together with Him “Jesus,” having forgiven you all trespasses;"
Whether we like to admit it or not, mankind “every male and female child” is born in a state of sin because of the Sin of one man, Adam. Sin by its nature is being separated from God “YHWH” which is the absence of Life as it was intended to be.
The only way that mankind can return to the Perfect state of Life is to be Quickened by the Holy Ghost to accept the Precious Shed Blood of Jesus as payment in full for sin.
God “YHWH” knowing that mankind would sin, provided a Way back to Him through the Precious Shed Blood of His Only Begotten Son Jesus before the Creation of Mankind. Praise His Holy and Righteous Name!
We read in St. John 5:21, "For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the son quickeneth whom He will."
The Creator of Life “YHWH” gave His Son Jesus the authority and Power to Quicken or Make Alive whomsoever He will ~
King David in Psalms 143:11 wrote, "Quicken me, O Lord, for Thy Name’s sake: for Thy Righteousness’ sake bring my Soul out of trouble."
David prayed and asked God “YHWH” to make him alive, not for anything good that he had done, but because of what Jesus “who is the Name Sake of God” has done.
In Psalms 80:17-19, King David wrote, "Let Thy hand be upon the man of Thy
right hand, upon the son of man whom Thou madest strong for Thyself. *So
will not we go back from Thee: quicken us, and we will call upon Thy name.
*Turn us again, O LORD God of Hosts, cause Thy face to shine; and we shall be saved."
As a general rule God “YHWH” does not force mankind to Serve Him. Therefore, Davis say, “Lord, I want you to have control of my life, lead me and guide me
into ALL Truth.
Having God “YHWH” be the Ruling Force in the Life of the Believer is not a one time function. It is ongoing and God wants to know that you are still of a mind to have Him be in control.
We, His followers “Saints” need to know that the Lord is pleased with us thus,
the desire to see Him smile upon us.
We read in St. John 11:25-26," Jesus said unto her, I am the Resurrection, and
the Life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: *And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
Jesus is the one that Quickens us to Life. He uses the Holy Spirit of God “YHWH” His Father to bring mankind to Him.
Remember, that word “Resurrection” means to be brought back to Life. This 26th verse is really exciting to me. For Saints to know that they can’t really die as long as they desire to hold on to and follow Jesus is truly amazing. The
only person or thing that can cause a Soul to die is the individual person themselves.
In St. John 6:63 we read, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."
It is the Spirit of God “YHWH” that Creates Life and remember, God gave
His Son Jesus the ability to use His Power. The Written Word of God
“YHWH” is like life giving food to the Believer / Saints.
The Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:1-6 wrote, "And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; *Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: *Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. *But God, who is rich in Mercy, for His Great Love wherewith He loved us, *Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) *And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:"
This Scripture is similar in part to that which was written in Colossians:
The Apostle Paul is speaking to you and each and every individual that will hear and adhere to the Written Word of God the Bible ~
Each one of us were servants to sin, some to a lesser degree than others. But none the less, All of us were sinners. Even though we were not worthy of any Mercy, God “YHWH” because He Loved us with a Love that is beyond human understanding, sent His Only Begotten Son Jesus to live in a wicked world that was without hope; to be mistreated and abused and nailed to a cruel tree “cross” to have His side pierced with a spear “from which came the Church, the Body and Bride of Christ” and to raise from the dead after three days and three nights that we might be forgiven of our sins and Live for Evermore with Him. Praise His Holy Name!
