~ Pure: free from what vitiates (to debase in moral status), weakens, or pollutes; containing nothing that does not properly belong; free from moral fault or guilt; characterized by no appreciable alteration of articulation during utterance;
~
~ Mind: the element or complex of elements in an individual that feels, perceives, thinks, wills, and especially reasons; the organized conscious and unconscious adaptive mental activity of an organism (a person); ~
~ Pure Mind: is to be free from what vitiates (free from that which makes one faulty or defective); to be free from that which weakens or pollutes the elements in a person that feels and thinks especially with reason; ~
The Apostle Peter in 2nd Peter 3:1-7 wrote, "This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: *That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: *Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, *And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. *For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: *Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: *But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."
One thing to remember about stirring up a person’s pure mind is that they must first have in their mind that which is to be stirred up. The person needs to read the Bible, the infallible Written Word of God “YHWH”.
In other words, as a general rule, a person cannot withdraw money out of a bank account until an account has been opened and sufficient funds have first been deposited into that account to cover the desired withdrawal.
There are some substances once mixed together that never lose their consistency but this unfortunately is not the case with the human mind.
Several years ago I visited a Dr Pepper Museum and Bottling Plant in Dublin, Texas. Part of the tour was to show how the soft drink was put together. The guide said that once the ingredients of the product were shaken together that it
would always stay properly mixed as a Dr Pepper soft drink.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if a person’s mind would always maintain the proper mixture of that which is right and pleasing in the sight of God “YHWH”?
In 1st Corinthians 2:16, the Apostle Paul wrote, (in part), "But we have the mind of Christ."
The Saints are to have the mind of Jesus. In order to do this we must change from Glory to Glory. 2nd Corinthians 3:18
According to the Apostle Paul the Saints are to have the same kind of mind that Jesus has.
One Scripture says, “as He is, so are we in this world,” 1st John 4:17. Think about this for a moment. Where is Jesus now? Scripture says that He sits at the right hand of the thrown of God (our Heavenly Father), Hebrews 12:2.
In other words, He has the ear of the Father, “YHWH”. Jesus, Himself said that the Saints are to, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me.” St. Matthew 11:29 - The best way to have a pure mind is to find out what Jesus said and did and do likewise.
Even the mother of Jesus said, “whatsoever He tells you to do, do it.”
St. John 2:5 - In complying with what they were instructed to do, they saw and experienced a Miracle.
The apostle Paul in Philippians 2:5-8 wrote, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: *Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: *But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: *And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
Jesus is the Word of God / Son of God that was made flesh and those that accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour are flesh being made the Sons of God.
In Colossians 3:9-11, the Apostle Paul wrote, "Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; **And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: *Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all."
Before a person can put on Jesus they must first put off the old man (sin). In life when a person is physically dirty and they are scheduled to go out on a special
engagement, as a general rule they do not put on clean clothes when their flesh is still dirty and stinking; they first bathe and clean up and then they get dressed with clean clothes.
The Apostle Paul in Ephesians 4:17-24 wrote, "This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, *Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: *Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. **But ye have not so earned Christ;
*If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: **That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which
is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; ***And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; **And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."
It is truly a sad condition that many in the Church World today have chosen to be filled with the Traditions of Men rather than with the things that make for True Holiness.
Who is blinder than the one that is willingly blind at heart, Romans 11:25? The Apostle Peter in 2nd Peter 3:5 says that this type of people is willingly ignorant.
If we allow the Blind at heart and in Spirit to lead us then, we shall both fall into the ditch. St. Luke 6:39
Words like these were spoken by our Lord and Saviour Jesus, Himself. Therefore, shouldn’t we take heed / pay closer attention to the things we hear and how we follow them?
We so desperately need to discontinue following the things generated in, through and from the world and pay close attention to the Written Word of God “YHWH” the Bible and practice doing them. Amen? Amen!
The Apostle Paul in 2nd Corinthians 4:15-16 wrote, "For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. **For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day."
The Written Word of God, the Bible was written and provided to mankind so that they would take warning against doing that which God “YHWH” said that the Saints should not do and that they should put into practice the doing of the
things that He said we should do.
I recently heard a saying that I think would be applicable here: True Freedom or Perfect Freedom comes through Complete or Prefect Obedience.
In other words, for instance, when a person is completely compliant to the Laws of the Land in which they live, they do not or should not have any fear of being pulled over by a policeman or of being arrested for a crime.
As long as the Saints are walking in the Truth of God’s Holy Word, they are walking in Perfect Harmony with Him.
In 1st Corinthians 15:30-31, the Apostle Paul wrote, "And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? **I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily."
Why would anyone choose to live in fear of being arrested by a Law Enforcement Officer if they are living according to the Laws of the Land.
Likewise, why would anyone choose to live in fear of Eternal Judgment (Hell Fire) when living by every Word that is Written in the Bible, the Holy Word of God “YHWH” will bring Perfect Peace to them that put their trust in Him (Jesus). Praise His Holy Name!
