~ The quality or state of being liberal; The tendency of giving freely and generously; The act of being tolerant of the ideas or behavior of others ~
In St. Luke 6:38 we read, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."
No doubt you have heard this before, giving is like sewing seed; you sew or plant a seed and it will chance to bring forth a plant bearing much seed or fruit.
Another saying that is quite popular is, "it takes money to make money" ~
One Scripture says, “the liberal soul shall be made fat." Proverbs 11:25 Therefore, it would stand to reason, if you want to receive, then you must be a liberal giver.
King Solomon in Proverbs 11:25 wrote, "The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself."
When a person plants a seed, waters it and nurtures it, receiving the fruit from their labors will be more likely. It seems that everyone loves a person that is a giver of gifts.
In Isaiah 32:8 the Prophet Isaiah wrote, "The liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand."
Think big, receive big. Think and do little, the results will be to receive little ~
We read in 1st Chronicles 29:5 (in part), "Who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?"
Are you willing to give or consecrate your life to Jesus? If we are willing to give our life to Jesus then, He will give His ALL to us. I can personally assure you that we cannot out give God “YHWH” and His Holy and Righteous son Jesus.
The Apostle Paul in 2nd Corinthians 8:7-12 wrote, "Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. *I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love. *For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. *And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. *Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. *For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not."
As we give ourselves to Believing and doing God’s “YHWH” Holy Written Word, we will grow in Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding. As we share the Truth of God’s Word to others, our names will be lifted up before the Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus and the Holy Angels in Heaven.
By our liberal giving of ourselves and that which we might have at hand to give, we bring forth much fruit unto Righteousness. No one can be expected to give more than they have but if we have a mind or hart that is willing to give then, we will do what we can when we can and that is all that the Lord asks of any of us.
King Solomon in Proverbs 3:9 wrote, "Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:"
Here, Solomon is speaking of Tithing. A person that gives Tithes to the Ministry of the Gospel as though they were giving unto Jesus, can expect to be Blessed rising up and laying down, going out and coming in, and when they are just walking around. The Lord is not forgetful to Bless those that Bless those that do His Work.
We read in Psalms 112:1-9, where Kind David wrote, "Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. *His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. *Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. *Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. *A good man showeth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. *Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. *He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. *His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. *He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour."
David said it all, there just isn’t any that the Liberal Soul can be anything but Blessed. Even though things may seem tough at times yet, the Lord is always standing nearby to lend a hand in a time of need. Praise His Holy Name!
King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 11:1 wrote, "Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days."
Sometimes it may seem that the Blessings that you are looking for are never going to come. But what we need to keep in mind is that God is never late, He is always on time.
In Psalms 41:1-2, King David wrote, "Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. *The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies."
No doubt we all will see difficult times come, but our Lord is ever near to lend a Helping Hand and He’s always just in time.
Would you like to be kept or taken care of when everything around you is falling apart? I’m sure that your answer to this question would be a resounding, “yes”. The best way for us to be sure that we will have what we need when we need it is to love the Lord with all our Heart, Spirit, Soul and Body and with our substance too.
In 1st Chronicles 22:19 we read, "Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD."
We must rise up and be about doing the Service of the Lord ~
The Apostle Paul in Ephesians 4:28 wrote, "Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth."
We may not think that we have anything to give but everyone has something that they can give. If nothing else, we can give our time in prayer for the Body of Christ, the Church and for the lost souls that need to find Jesus.
We read in Acts 20:35, "I have showed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
If we have the physical ability, we might want to give of our time cleaning up around the Church where we attend. If we notice that someone, that is normally at Service is missing, we might want to call them on the phone or send them an E-mail or go visit them to see if they are having a problem of some sort or just to let them know that they were missed.
Remember, the person that gives sparingly, receives sparingly but the person that gives liberally, receives abundantly. St. Luke 6:38 and Malachi 3:10
