~ King: one who’s position is hereditary and who rules for life ~
~ Priest: One authorized to perform sacred rites as a mediatory agent ~
In Revelation 5:9-10 we read, "And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; *And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."
Jesus is the one that has made the Saints to be Kings and Priest unto God “YHWH”. Not only has He made the Saints to be Kings and Priest but He has stipulated where they are to perform the duties of such.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 4:17 wrote (in part), "God quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were."
This is a very important Scripture because it sets a Precedent for other attributions attributed to the Saints in other Scriptures.
The Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 61:6 wrote (in part), "Ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God:"
Isaiah prophesied that it would be and Jesus declared it so ~
King Solomon in Proverbs 16:10-17 wrote, "A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment. *A just weight and balance are the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag are his work. *It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness. *Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right. *The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it. *In the light of the king’s countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain. *How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! *The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul."
A King is ordained to render unbiased Judgment. However, if a King has a wicked hart or their hart is swayed by a substance that might alter one’s thinking then, they many render corrupt Judgment.
As long as a King’s hart is Peaceful, they are more likely to say and do things that make for peace. But if situations cause a King to have unrest or become angry, the Judgment they render will depend on the severity of their disposition.
Therefore, it behooves the children and / or subjects of a King to do that which is right and pleasing in the sight of the King and to refrain from doing things that are wrong or evil.
In 1st Peter 2:9, the Apostle Peter wrote, "Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"
Peter is another witness that states that the Saints are to be Priest of the Lord. We are therefore obligated to Praise and Worship the Lord for the marvelous blessings that He has bestowed upon us.
We read in Leviticus 6:12-13, "The fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. *The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out."
Our Praise and the Sacrifice of our lips to the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords is to be a continual, moment by moment Sacrifice of Praise unto Jesus our Lord and Saviour ~
In Proverbs 31:4-5 King Solomon wrote, "It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: *Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted."
The Word of the Lord states that the Priest of the Lord are not to come before His presence drinking. Ezekiel 44:21
Anything that might cause one’s mind to be altered may also cause that person to be more likely to sin or use poor judgment.
In Exodus 19:6 we read (in part), "Ye shall be unto me a Kingdom of Priest, and an Holy Nation."
The Saints of God “YHWH” are to be Righteous as He is Righteous, 1st John 3:7. They are to be Pure as He is Pure, 1st John 3:3 and they are to walk in the Light as He is in the Light. 1st John 1:7
We read in Ezra 9:1-2, "Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites. *For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass."
The Kings and Priest of the Lord are commanded to not do the things that the rest of the people in the world do. For instance, a Priest is not supposed to marry a woman that has been Divorced, Leviticus 21:14. If they want to marry a woman that is a widow, the widow must be without children and she must have been the wife of a Priest that died, Ezekiel 44:22. Kings and Priest were not have more than one wife. In other words, God’s “YHWH” people are to be Holy.
Again in Revelation 1:6 we read, -“Jesus” hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen."
It is the intention of the Lord Jesus that the Saints are to be just that, Saintly.
