Receive the Holy Ghost

~ Receiving = Something given, offered or transmitted... ~
The American Heritage Dictionary-Second College Edition

You will find listed below 3 different ways, in which people did and still do receive the "in-filling" of the Holy Ghost. We know that just as each individual receives salvation in a different manner, so the gift of the Holy Ghost comes to individuals in different ways.

"Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues."
I Corinthians 14:39

~ First, Water Baptism, then received the gift of the Holy Ghost ~

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 2:38

"He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.  When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."
Acts 19:2,5

~ Heard the word first, then received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost ~

"While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.  And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 10:44-45

"Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?"
Acts 10:47

~ Laying on of hands, then received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost ~

"Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:  Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus)  Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost."
Acts 8:14-17

If you have not received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, in any of the ways mentioned above and you are still serious about receiving the Baptism; then follow the study/exercise, listed below.

You can do this, in the privacy of your own home. Once you have finished this study/exercise, you will have experienced the Holy Ghost five (5) different ways.

You will have seen it with your eyes, written it with your hands, spoken it with your mouth, heard it with your ears and believed it with your heart.

"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."
Luke 11:9

Practical Study Exercise

Items needed:
A large loose leaf note book labeled, "Holy Ghost" Scriptures
Special Bible Highlighter, (color of your choice)
Old King James Bible

So, let's begin in the New Testament

Experience the Holy Ghost with your eyes:

As you begin reading in St. Matthew, every time you see the word,
Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit read the Scripture to yourself and hold your place.

Experience the Holy Ghost with your hands:

Next, take your notebook and label your page by Scripture and verse. Then, write the entire Scripture down. Then use your highlighter and highlight the word Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit.

Experience the Holy Ghost with your mouth, hear it with your ears, believe with your heart:

As Jesus talked to His disciples on the road to Damascus, they mentioned how their hearts burned within them as He spoke to them. As you allow the Scriptures to speak to your heart, they will become part of you. Your heart will grow stronger as the Word is planted deeper. As the Spirit of God leads you to experience the Word of God with your senses, the Word will become part of you.

"Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah"
Psalm 21:2

Note
:
We realized that this method of study takes a great deal of time and effort. But we are convinced that it will satisfy your desire for something greater in your life.

We believe that even before you reach the end of Revelation, you will notice not only a change in your view of the scriptures, but also a great change in your spirit.

We have shared this method of study with others and they have reported wonderful results back to us; many have actually received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, even before they finished reading the entire New Testament!

May God richly bless you as you seek to change from "Glory to Glory" and reach newer heights in His Word through, the Holy Spirit.
